No stabilisers!

Charlotte recently decided it was time she learned to ride her bike without stabilisers so Caz took her onto Tayne Field to give it a go. After a couple of runs down the field with Caz holding on to the back of Charlotte's saddle (hard work running crouched down!), she really started to get the idea and was mostly balancing herself. After a couple more runs, she had it and Caz could push her to get going and then let go!

Whilst this was going on, Thomas decided that he wanted to try his bike without stabilisers. So, not wanting to quash his keen spirit (whilst secretly thinking "no chance"), Caz removed Thomas' stabilisers and ran down the field a few more times holding on to the back of Thomas' saddle. He didn't really seem to be getting the balance but was happy trying anyway.

We came out again the next day to practise some more and, by some miracle, Thomas got it! Like Charlotte, a push to get him going, and he was away, covering quite long distances and steering! Amazing!

Brockhill Country Park

Another beautiful day so we had to make the most of it - a trip to Brockhill Country Park with some friends.
Thomas shared the bread he had brought to feed the ducks with his best friend - hooray!

Nanny D

It is with great sadness that we tell you about the death of Nanny D - Charlotte and Thomas' great-grandmother. The last few weeks have been very emotional but we know that she is now happy in Heaven with Grandpa. God bless you Nanny.

Dover Castle

We have used our Tesco clubcard vouchers to buy English Heritage membership so we enjoyed a sunny day out at Dover Castle. As it is the Easter holidays, they had a circus theme going on - Charlotte and her friend had a go at the diablo.

Sunday's snow

Lisa, John, Heather and Poppy came to visit us for the weekend and were treated to some snow on Sunday!
We went out while it was still snowing to enjoy it on Tayne Field. Charlotte's snowball aim was proven to be just as bad as her mother's!

Charlotte's 6th birthday party

We braved a party at home for Charlotte this year... We had pottery painting, party games and a party lunch. Caz was exhausted at the end of the 2 hours but Charlotte had enjoyed herself so it was all worthwhile!

Charlotte's birthday afternoon

Charlotte's birthday fell on a Wednesday so she had to go to school on her birthday this year. After school we went over to Canterbury and met Auntie Emma, Uncle Paul and Nana for dinner at Pizza Express. Yum!

Make up artists

Auntie Emma gave Charlotte a make-up set so Charlotte and Thomas had great fun making mummy look beautiful! It took alot of scrubbing to get the lip gloss off Caz's face afterwards!

Bird watching

We had an outing to the RSPB reserve down at Dungeness. Auntie Kathryn accompanied us and helped Charlotte with her binoculars while Caz attempted to keep Thomas from scaring all the birds away!
